python-ase software package provides Atomic Simulation Environment for atomistic simulations, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-ase
python-ase is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-ase package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-ase *
You will get with python-ase package name, version, architecture and description in a table
